EP202 - From Local News to Storytelling Coach: How Morgan Marie Turned Her Voice Into a Brand

In this episode of The Tyler Dickerhoof Show, Tyler sits down with Morgan Marie—storytelling coach, consultant, and radio personality—to explore the transformative power of sharing your story. From her early days as a local news reporter to her current work empowering leaders and entrepreneurs, Morgan reveals why storytelling isn’t just a communication skill—it’s a leadership strategy.

Together, they dive into why people hesitate to tell their stories, how vulnerability creates stronger teams, and why “boring” stories often hold the most power. Morgan also unpacks the emotional roadblocks women entrepreneurs face, and why showing up as your full self at work is the new standard for authentic leadership. Whether you're building a business, leading a team, or simply learning to trust your voice, this episode will give you the tools—and the permission—to tell stories that connect, convert, and inspire.

Meet Morgan Marie

Morgan Marie is a storytelling coach and consultant with a passion for helping people connect through the power of their stories.
She believes in connection over perfection. It’s what led her to start asking big questions as a curious kid (nicknamed “Curious George”)—and it’s what still fuels her today. Morgan is the founder of The Cove, a private community where women gather to grow through strategic storytelling. It’s a space designed to help women show up confidently, share their stories, and create meaningful impact—surrounded by a supportive network of like-minded, heart-centered women.

Her journey began as a local news reporter, where she learned to find and tell compelling stories under pressure—a skill she now uses to guide others in shaping and sharing their own.

Before launching her business, Morgan served as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Spokane Hoopfest, the world’s largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament. It was there that her keynotes Ditch the Pitch and Stories That Sell were born, inspired by lessons in marketing, leadership, and yes—her love of sneakers.
Morgan holds a Master’s in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University, where she’s been an adjunct professor since 2017. She’s passionate about helping people build confidence in public speaking—because when you have the right story for the right audience, it doesn’t matter if you’re in a room of 3 or 300. You’re always Speaking to One—her framework that helps people move past fear and into authentic connection.

Through her signature 1:1 sessions, transformative workshops and community calls inside The Cove, Morgan helps people uncover, shape and share their stories with purpose.

When you work with Morgan, you’ll walk away with powerful takeaways that lead to growth—personally, professionally, and everything in between.

When she’s not with clients, speaking, or on-air with 93.7 The Mountain, you’ll likely find her in her happy place—sharing stories around a campfire with friends and family, country music playing in the background, on a lake in the beautiful Pacific Northwest she calls home.
