EP191 - The Truth About Energy Costs and the Future of Sustainability with Johannes Escudero

In this episode of The Tyler Dickerhoof Show, host Tyler Dickerhoof sits down with Johannes Escudero, CEO of the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas. They discuss how biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) are produced, how they can help reduce waste, and why big companies are starting to pay attention.

Johannes shares his experience working in the energy industry, the biggest challenges in pushing for change, and why funding and politics play such a big role in renewable energy. They also talk about how rising energy costs affect food prices and what the future could look like under new leadership.

From leadership struggles to the fight for better energy solutions, this episode is packed with insights on where the industry is headed and what still needs to change.

Meet Johannes Escudero

Johannes D. Escudero is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Coalition For Renewable Natural Gas (RNG Coalition).

Mr. Escudero founded the RNG Coalition in July, 2011 to provide the renewable natural gas industry with a leadership platform and an advocacy voice. Today, the RNG Coalition’s membership is international and includes leading companies and organizations from each sector of the RNG industry.

RNG Coalition members produce more than 95% of the renewable natural gas in North America and more than 98% of the cellulosic biofuel under the federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program. Together, the RNG Coalition advocates and educates for the development, deployment and utilization of renewable natural gas so that present and future generations have access to clean, domestic, renewable fuel, heat, power, products and services.

Through effective leadership, advocacy and education, the RNG Coalition has successfully protected and expanded existing RNG markets, and created new RNG market demand at the federal, state, provincial and local government levels in the United States and Canada.

Mr. Escudero is a passionate advocate and entrepreneur with more than twenty-five years of organizational leadership and business development experience spanning association and non-profit management, higher education, federal and state politics, legislative and regulatory affairs.

He has a Master's Degree with honors from Hope International University, where he has also served as an Adjunct Professor.

Prior to founding the RNG Coalition, Mr. Escudero served as Legislative Director in the California State Assembly, and served ranking legislative members of the Budget, Transportation, Utilities and Commerce, Natural Resources and Environmental Safety & Toxic Materials committees.

Mr. Escudero was ordained as a pastor in 2006 and has served as President of Escudero & Associates Inc. since 2008 - a private consulting firm whose clients include members and prospective members of the RNG Coalition.
